This is the right side switch that acts
as the Blue Tooth unit but it works with another option: the
hands free set for the radio which is available separately.
I got it together with the switch above.
This is the steering harness switch,
part number 84306-52050. This is different to the one in the
car without the switch as the wiring socket here has 5 pins
whilest the one in you car has only on pin (for the horn).
The orange ring is the safety pin which prevents the switch
from turning while in shipment as this may damage the contacts
inside.
The is the complete dashboard wiring
assembly for the minor change model with the multi-function
steering wheel switch, part number 82141-0M022. It comes with
additional wiring for rear camera, six speakers, Navigator,
and the steering wheel switch for the DVD Player (Toyota).
That's pretty much what is needed, let's
get started....
First you'll have to remove the negative cable from your battery
as you will need to remove the airbag from the steering column.
This is to prevent dedination of the airbag when you put the
plug back... Then remove the shifter cover and the radio cover
from the dashboard. When done, it will look like this.
Remove the radio by removing the screws
in the circle. You'll be able to slide the radio out just
enough to insert a flat head screw driver behind the radio
to release the lock clip of the wiring harness, you'll be
able to slide the radio out further to remove each wiring
socket from the back side of the radio. Now, there were only
three sockets attached to the radio: the power socket, the
speaker socket, and the antenna. There is a cross cable at
the back of the radio, leave it alone.
Next thing is to remove the airbag.
Use the hex-star wrench number 30 to un-screw the lock nuts
on both sides of the steering wheel as shown. The lock nuts
stay inside the steering wheel - they are locked inside so
don't attempt to bring them out. Then you can lift up the
airbag from the steering wheel, remove the horn cable, and
the airback cable (yellow), use a very small flat head screw
driver to pry up the lock tab, then you can remove the orange
socket easily.
Remove the dummy covers by removing
the locking nut from each side and simply pull them out, it
will look like this after the covers are removed. Then remove
the steering wheel, it is highly recommended that you mark
the position of the steering wheel and set it straight before
removing it so that you won't have to reposition it when you
put it back.
Now you'll have to remove the steering
column covers (top and bottom). There are two screws infront
and one at the bottom. After you remove the screws, use only
your hands to separate the top and bottom covers - do not
use anything to pry them apart as the covers are easily damaged.
Here comes the important part, if
you want to install the rear camera later on, it is recommended
that you remove the complete dashboard wiring harness and
replace it with the new one here. I chose to make a shortcut
wiring and not change the complete wiring harness as I discovered
some relays from the old model are not the same as the new
model.
This is the wire that I removed from
the new wiring harness. Those who want to do the same do not
need to buy the complete wiring harness, just make the new
shortcut wiring as shown here. There are only five wires here.
This is the socket that will connect
to the steering harness switch: the old one comes with only
one wire for the horn, the new one comes with five: white
with green stripes = horn; green with double silver dots =
dim light; black, white, and yellow are signal wires.
This is the socket that will connect
to the radio - notice there are only three wires. Connect
this to the radio at the position above. Then route the wires
throught the back of the dashboard to the steering column.
Now you can connect the new socket
to the steering harness switch, you'll have to remove the
horn wire from the new switch, replace it with the horn
wire from the car and connect the dim light wire to one
of the nearby switches.
I chose to connect the dim light wire
to the rear cool max switch which is located at the right
side of the dashboard. I solder it on, and sealed it with
electrical tape.
It's time to put back the steering wheel,
don't forget to remove the safety pin (the orange ring) from
the steering harness switch. Put the new control switch on
the steering wheel.
เสร็จแล้วก็เสียบสายที่เหลือ....
and connect the rest of the wires....... แล้วประกอบทุกอย่างกลับคืน.....
and assemble everything back.......
It's done. It took me about two
hours to complete all of this. If you already have the shorcut
wire, it should take about hour and a half as I spent more
than half an hour removing the wire from the new wiring harness.
